The abandoned tunnels deep underneath the city have an extraordinary power – they transport explorers into their memories. The Guide, a mysterious hermit who lives within them, spends his existence leading people through the perilous dark, into the recesses of their own pasts. When his ‘services’ are hired for use by Charlie, a teenage girl in search of the truth of her mother, they discover their pasts are linked by the same cataclysmic event.
