Bear with Us is a modern farce about a guy who attempts to propose to his girlfriend in the most romantic way possible, but his meticulous plan starts to fall apart when a ravenous bear stumbles upon their charming cabin in the woods. It’s a total comedy of errors that takes a close look at just how far we’ll go to preserve our relationships.

Director: William J. Stribling

William J. Stribling (director, screenwriter, producer) is a graduate of NYU Tisch School of the Arts, with degrees in Film & TV Production and Dramatic Literature. In 2012, William directed the feature film Lies I Told My Little Sister. Lies has gone on to play festivals around the world. In 2015, the film was released on DVD through ARC Entertainment.

Break A Leg, William’s first short film, swept NYU’s New Visions and Voices Film Festival, winning awards for Directing, Editing, and Producing, as well as First Prize. William’s 2012 short film Beyond Belief has been an Official Selection at over 30 film festivals worldwide, winning several jury and audience awards. Beyond Belief was picked up by Shorts HD and aired on DirecTV.

William’s award-winning 2014 short film Down in Flames: the True Story of Tony “Volcano” Valenci was a recent finalist for the CINE Golden Eagle Award and is now streaming on Amazon Prime after a long and successful film festival run.

In Spring of 2014, William graduated from Chapman University with his MFA in Screenwriting. His thesis screenplay, Old Enough, won the Cecil Award for Best Feature Screenplay.

Stribling’s latest feature film, Bear with Us is a wild black and white comedy starring Christy Carlson Romano (Kim Possible, Even Stevens), Cheyenne Jackson (30 Rock, American Horror Story, Glee), and Mark Jude Sullivan (YouTube’s Sing It!). Bear with Us is currently on the festival circuit, receiving glowing reviews and awards.

William, who works and resides in Los Angeles, is currently in post-production for a web series called Edgar Allen Poe’s Murder Mystery Dinner Party, produced by Shipwrecked Comedy and starring Ashley Clements (Lizzie Bennet Diaries), Jim O’Heir (Parks & Recreation), Clayton Snyder (Lizzie McGuire), Mary Kate Wiles (Lizzie Bennet Diaries), Joey Richter (StarKid), Lauren Lopez (StarKid), and Curt Mega (Glee).
